Producing a Royal Family Camp is a year-long process. We're always in need of awesome volunteers to make each camp a success.
Our camp team is comprised exclusively of volunteers who call SCG their church home.
Find a team that fits your gifts, or stretch your legs and faith and help where help is most needed!
We value each team member, and provide comprehensive training for all volunteers prior to camp.
Teams are made up of volunteers who are at camp the entire week, and other support teams that are a great fit if you can't make the whole week.
The most direct interaction with our campers. Energetic, compassionate counselors are the cornerstone of a successful camp. Counselors are mentors, spiritual guides, and Rocks of Stability for our campers.
Music starts the day with songs of praise, lots of movement, and memorable Christian and camp standards. Campfires end the day with more sing-a-longs, laughter and maybe a S'More or two...
Our music team inspires the campers, and brings smiles, stomping feet and rhythm throughout camp.
It's a Royal casting call! Our RFKC, Cypress Drama Team produces and performs Biblically based lessons for our campers. The drama team enthusiastically teaches, entertains, and motivates our young audience.
The Craft team is hosted by woodworkers, crafters, and creative designers. Building, weaving, painting, and assembling unique items the campers can create and take home is a camp highlight for many. Campers also get quiet interaction with small groups and mentoring from SCG's amazing creative minds.
Our recreation team affords the campers hours of supervised play and positive adult interaction. Soccer, human foosball (it's a thing), swimming, and archery.
Many of our campers have learned to ride a bike for the first time at camp! From pool time to zip lines, the recreation team is in the middle of the action!
Child Psychologists and Medical Professionals are critical to a safe, supportive, and successful camp.
If you are a child psychologist, child psychiatrist, MFT, nurse or physician, we welcome your expertise!
The DepartureTeam makes sure the children have everything they need for camp, and provides welcoming hospitality for the foster families. This team creates a warm welcome, and a cheerful send off for our campers.
The Return Team greets the bus as It arrives at SCG. This team ensures the returning campers have all of their crafts, photo albums and belongings. Additionally, they have a week's worth of love, praise and fun to keep in their hearts forever.
On Camper Return weekend, a Welcome Home Dinner is provided for all camp volunteers. Please consider serving (pun intended) on this culinary team.
Our Birthday Party Team helps celebrating "Everyone's Birthday" with games, activities, birthday party decorations, and treats. Many campers never get the chance to celebrate their birthday during the year, so "Everyone's Birthday" gives us a chance to celebrate the importance of each camper, and remind them that God created them with a purpose.
If you are unable to commit to the entire week, this a great way to serve, spread cheer, and help make the birthday celebration special. Smiles guaranteed!
We set up a store at camp each year. During the week, campers have the opportunity to shop for their very own clothing and accessories. The only payment accepted is a smile! Consider joining the team to make the shopping experience special!
Our Kid's Mart is supported by donations of new clothing and accessories each year.
Our main source of donations are the coin jars distributed at SCG services. Camp happens because of the generous donations of SCG Church members, friends and attendees. The coin jars will be available after services at the Royal Family table on the courtyard.
Additionally, each year requires: sets and costumes for the drama team, craft and woodworking supplies, and clothing and accessories for the Kid's Mart.
